Lots of distortion and raw vocals, Left Lane Cruiser’s brand of the Blues on Shake and Bakea child of a punk rock upbringing. The grittiness aligns Left Lane Cruiser with the Blues purveyors of the past while ignoring Classic Rockers whose Blues came via cleanliness and slick production. The opening track, ‘Black Dog Keep Running,’ has Warren Hall’s beat stamped all over it before it glides away to guitarsville. It’s the title track that does it for me though. It’s a non-stop psycho-boogie harmonica heaven and oozes blues rock. There are a lot of bands out there doing this kind of thing but not many do it quite as good as this, even though the psychedelic element has faded and made way for the more bluesy sound, making it a tad more down and dirty. – PENNYBLACKMUSIC

Hypnotic, spaced out desert-rock style country blues, it’s very good indeed. The video is fabulous too – shot backwards but it’ll take you a while to work it out. – AMERICANA UK
