★★★★ 4 stars review of DATURA4 “Blessed is the Boogie” via GET READY TO ROCK

Garagey but not grungey, power-poppy but not cheesy, muddy but not sludgy, blues-respecting but not formulaic, trippy but not spacey, Datura4 is carving out their own niche and clearly incorporate their many influences but, refreshingly, keep them as just that – influences which contribute to the greater Datura4 sound. – GET READY TO ROCK

DATURA4 premiere “Run With Lucy” via VIVE LE ROCK MAGAZINE

Datura4 are lead by Fremantle native Dom Mariani, who’s been a linchpin of Aussie underground rock for the past 40 years with bands like The Go-Starts, The Stems, The Someloves, DM3 and The DomNicks (with former Cortinas and Clash guitarist Nick Shepard). Usually to be found trading in Beatley powerpop and Nuggets-era psych, with Datura4 Dom and his colleagues Stu Loasby, Warren Hall and Bob Patient scratch their heavy blues-rock and footstomping boogie itch. – VIVE LE ROCK HERE

Awesome review of LONESOME SHACK “Desert Dreams” via GLIDE MAGAZINE

Ultimately the power of this album is how the band takes well-known American genres and completely, yet respectfully, reworks them, making them into something almost completely different. One also cannot help but be impressed with the depth of the songwriting accomplished with such little instrumentation. The band has whittled songs down to their barest essence, very much in the spirit of the early blues. Desert Dreams is a wonderful fugue state of familiar-yet-unfamiliar songs. – GLIDE MAGAZINE HERE

Great review of BEECHWOOD “Trash Glamour” via FEAR AND LOATHING

Recorded cheaply, it’s a lot more in your face than the following albums and lacks the subtleties to be found on those records, but for a comparison, it probably captures more of how they still sound live, which is a treat in itself. I’m so glad that this record has been given a proper release and I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who loves noisy guitars, teenage angst and great tunes. Play it loud and play it often! – FEAR AND LOATHING HERE
