As the aural waves break and the tide recedes we’re rewarded with songs celebrating California’s frontier spirit and the cornucopia of friends and adventures that come with a life largely spent on the road. Over the span of 40 minutes, one sun kissed cut after another radiate brightly as the band barrels down the rocky coastline into the ethers of steam, salt, fog and grass. – AQUARIUM DRUNKARD HERE

GOSPELBEACH: BEST COASTS
Brent Rademaker would like to think that GospelbeacH’s Pacific Surf Line (Alive Naturalsound) is a celebration of our country’s two left coasts—though maybe he would’ve preferred a bit more Old Florida charm to counter the L.A. swagger. “I miss the beach there; I miss the feeling in the air after it rains,” says Rademaker, a native of the Gulf Coast. “I really wanted to make this album sound like the kinds of music I listened to growing up in the ’70s.”
By and large, though, Pacific Surf Line celebrates Rademaker’s return to Southern California, its title referencing the modern trains that now traverse its dramatic coastline. “I love the people out here,” says Rademaker. “I work at Commune Design, which is known for being quintessentially California. I work with my wife and a ton of creative people. Once I started working there, that’s when the record really started taking shape.”

Review of GOSPELBEACH on the UNCUT blog
Moving on, Brent Rademaker’s diligent preservation of a certain LA country-rock sound has seen him pilot some handy groups, notably The Beachwood Sparks. The typographically awkward GospelbeacH is Rademaker’s latest band, and one which stays true to the aesthetic that’s sustained him for around two decades. Gram love proliferates, then, along with a hint of early ’70s Grateful Dead – due, perhaps, to the presence of guitarist Neal Casal (away from the Chris Robinson Brotherhood, he composed interval music for the Dead’s recent farewell gigs). – John Mulvey

Watch DATURA4’s new video “Another Planet” via YAHOO MUSIC
As Mariani explains of the song: “Another Planet – the last song written for the album. We’d recorded the main bed live, but were unsure of how it would end up and I was feeling that it may not make the cut. The spontaneous guitar solos were cool, but it was the walking bass that was to play a major part in the groove, and once the layered vocals and signature guitar intro were complete, it really took shape. We had something special. – READ MORE HERE
